Welcome to the 17th Annual Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital!

As the first decade of the 21st century closes, the Environmental Film Festival marks its 17th year in Washington, D.C. with an astounding diversity of films that capture the majesty of our world and address the ever-increasing threats to life on earth. The 2009 Festival spotlights earth’s final frontier, the ocean, source of all life, covering nearly three quarters of the globe but less known than the surface of the moon. Please join us this March to explore our water planet through the Festival’s 140+ films, enhanced with the perspectives and knowledge of 50 filmmakers and 72 special guests who will be on hand for the Festival.

Friday is the last day to voice your opinion on whether the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) should regulate carbon dioxide pollution, a primary cause of the climate change.

Special interests, like the oil and coal lobbies, are working overtime to defeat a positive ruling and have already gotten thousands of comments submitted in opposition.

Most people don’t know about this opportunity for public comment, so your voice can make a real difference. And with a new president in the White House, it’s likely that someone will actually be listening. Submit your public comment to the EPA here:

This is your chance to go on the public record — all the comments will be posted on the EPA’s website.
